Skyline Drive follows the crest of the ridge here, with a long string of overlooks and short trails to waterfalls. Caverns, ski slopes and the vineyards around Charlottesville are close to the Drive. Old mills, mountain music and Cherokee history are all part of the story of these hills. Many of these sites are small and worth a slow visit.
