Skiing and snow in Great Smoky Mountains
Great Smoky Mountains National Park straddles the Tennessee and North Carolina line and is the most visited national park in the country. The Tennessee side has busy tourist towns and theme parks, the North Carolina side has quieter mountain towns and river rafting. Several resorts in Virginia and North Carolina make snow and keep slopes open through the winter. Many also offer tubing for people who would rather not ski.
